María Esther Cervantes has a degree in International Relations from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. He has a Master of Arts with a specialty in Geography from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is currently a PhD student in Geography at the University of British Columbia. His research interests are related to skilled migration and the effects of digital technologies on transnational dynamics. María Esther has worked as a consultant at Distrito Tec, Urban Planning division of the Tecnológico de Monterrey and as Helpdesk Manager of the Open Contracting Data Standard of the Open Contracting Partnership operated by the Center for Sustainable Development.
