El 7 de marzo a las 17.30 hs, en el marco del encuentro latinoamericano de Inteligencia Artificial KHIPU 2023, estaremos organizando un taller donde exploraremos el acceso, control y uso de datos en la región.
La conferencia Khipu 2023 – Latin American Meeting In Artificial Intelligence tendrá lugar del 6 al 9 de marzo y se realizará en la FACULTAD DE INGENIERÍA – AV. JULIO HERRERA Y REISSIG 565, MONTEVIDEO / URUGUAY.
A medida que las tecnologías de machine learning evolución, es cada vez más claro la capacidad que tiene de afectar los sistemas sociales, económicos y gubernamentales. Sin datos confiables y representativos, estas tecnologías traen un riesgos de fallas, o en los peores escenarios de causar daño significativo.
Durante el taller invitaremos a participantes a compartir y explorar casos arraigados en la realidad de América Latina para discutir cómo los datos deben ser gobernados para promover un uso ético, justo e inclusivo de tecnologías de machine learning.

On March 7, within the Latin American Artificial Intelligence meeting KHIPU 2023, we will be organizing a workshop where we will explore the access, control and use of data in the region.
The Khipu 2023 – Latin American Meeting In Artificial Intelligence conference will take place from March 6 to 9 and will be held at the FACULTAD DE INGENIERÍA – AV. JULIO HERRERA Y REISSIG 565, MONTEVIDEO / URUGUAY.
As ML technology evolves, it is now clear that it is able to affect most societal, economic and government systems. An essential element in this scenario is data. Without reliable and representative data ML technologies are poised for failure, or worst case scenario cause significant harm.
In this space we will explore issues about access, control and use of data in the region. We share and invite participants to share cases grounded in Latin American reality, to discuss how data should be governed to promote an ethical, inclusive and fair use of ML technologies.
This is a participant led event, moderated by ILDA.
