Hassel Fallas is a communicator and data analyst dedicated to the management of projects based on research, information visualization and storytelling. She has been a consultant at ILDA since 2019 and has led projects related to the Standardization of femicide data in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the Mapping of data on violence against LGBTIQ+ people in Central America, among others. Currently, she coordinates the project “Making Violence Due to Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Visible,” which seeks to strengthen the data-based technical and advocacy skills of five grassroots community organizations in Central America.

Hassel has a Master’s Degree in Communication from the University of Alcalá de Henares, Spain, and has specialization degrees in Business Intelligence and Statistics from the Technological Institute of Costa Rica. Also another in Data Visualization in the R programming language from Johns Hopkins University. She is a professor of the Database Analysis and Information Visualization course of the Master’s Degree in Digital Journalism at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico.
