Civica Digital, together with ILDA and Data Uruguay, started the “Respira” (Breath) project in July 2014, based on the Mexico City API. The main goal of this platform was to show the quality of the air with simple graphics in order to identify the most polluting factors. It also allowed the analysis of areas with the highest levels of pollution, in Mexico City, over the time.
The platform showed contaminants in a way that allowed for their individual non-compliance with international standards. That is, it allowed to observe the actual concentration of the pollutant over the time to compare it with a universal measurement.
